Glasgow Water Company Storm Surge Basin

The Glasgow Water Company storm surge basin was constructed in 2015 and is a 7 million gallon air basin. The construction of the basin was commissioned to optimize plant efficiency and operations as well as being one piece of a larger, multi-year sanitary sewer overflow remediation project. The basin is primarily above grade and covers a footprint of approximately 282 by 180 feet. The walls of the basin are reinforced concrete and 22 feet tall on average. The basin slab was designed as a reinforced concrete mat foundation. Leonard Engineering’s scope of work included design and detailing of all reinforced concrete elements as well as access ladders into the basin, aerator foundations. and sump area.
